Wow. It sure does feel good to be back. I haven't posted for over a month on here, I'm sorry! I have been asked many times when my next post was going to be, which actually makes me feel like people read this, crazy. Most of the people asking about my blog are family members, and I would reply that I was very busy with school work, and it seems they would rather me blog then study? (I might have to think this one over). But anyways, I'm not real sure how this post is going to go. I didn't really do much exciting stuff during the month of October. My month was full of homework and studying in Hale Library for days. I managed to have a little fun here and there though.
When I came to K-State I knew there would be so many people on campus and around town, but wasn't sure as to how many people I would meet. So far, about 3 months into my stay in Manhattan, I would have to say that one of my favorite things is meeting new people and running into people I haven't seen in ages. One thing that K-State offers to interact with other people is Intramural Sports. I am currently on a Co-Ed Volleyball Team. Two weeks into our season we are 0-2, but are starting to come around and I expect us to finish the season with only 2 losses. I have to give props to people that play volleyball, it is harder than it looks, and can make you look plain STUPID if you have bad timing. We thought we would be cool and pick the team name "Kiss our Ace" but due to a mix-up on the sign-up sheet, we are now "Kiss Hoskins" (Hoskins is our captain Kayla's lastname), not sure how this happened, but hey, go team!
(Sorry in advance if this paragraph gets sappy, I miss my family.) One thing I noticed when I got to K-State is how you realize how much your family plays an everyday part in your life before you move. Most people don't like the fact that adults get facebook but honestly, I love catching up with my family via facebook. Although I know they like to creep on some of my pictures, I can live with it. I have had the chance to see all of my close family in about the past month, which I am grateful for. Props to my mom for holding down the fort in Pratt, can't wait to see her over Thanksgiving Break! Props to my dad and step-mom in Larned for raising my little brother Mason into a little stud, (and for taking care of Dude). I had the chance to hangout with my older brother Chad a few weeks ago and love chatting with him on facebook when we get the chance. My sister Jamie came to Manhattan this weekend and it was nice to see her (can't believe I just said that). She got a taste of Aggieville and what Manhattan has to offer. I'm really excited for Thanksgiving Break and Christmas Break so that I can see all of my family, including my cousins and grandparents.
Although I hate how the weather changes so much in a day in Kansas, I love Fall in Manhattan. It drives be crazy that I have to bundle up for my 8:30 class and by the time I'm walking home from lunch I want to change into shorts, but it's whatever. This last weekend was Halloween Weekend. It was by far one of the best weekends I have had in Manhattan so far. I went out with my buddy Levi and some of his baseball teammates. I was dressed as Payne Stewart, and Levi was dressed as Bob Ross, the creepy painter that used to be on PBS. We got a lot of laughs and had a night to remember,or forget or something like that.
K-State Football is sort of in a slump right now, but it's alright, because as my dad's favorite song goes, you gotta have Faith. They have a big game against Texas coming up this weekend that I'm excited for, and if that isn't enough, K-State Men's Basketball season starts tomorrow with a game against Newman. K-State is ranked #3 in the nation so as you can imagine, the campus and town are really excited for the season.
I honestly haven't even thought about who I would give 'knucks' to because I haven't had a post in a month. So first off, I would like to give 'knucks' to Levi Schlick for being my right-hand man this weekend, and for taking me out to Olive Garden a few weeks back, it was a great man-date. I would also like to extend 'knucks' to my favorite Theta girls, Room 151, although they are good at creeping me out, they are fun girls to hangout with. My 3rd and final 'knucks' go to everyone that is participating in No Shave November. I'm going to try to pull it off, but I'm sure by about the 2nd week in, I will look like a total pedophile and won't be allowed within 100 yards of an elementary school, Yay!
I really didn't have any ideas for this blog, so I just sat down and started typing. I went back and read it and about fell asleep, so I won't mind if you do. And to all of my blog followers out there that are as smart as my sister, "How come when you upload pics to your blog, I can never see them?", just click the link when a word is green, it means there is a link haha. I will leave you with another one of my favorite quotes.
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."
